Healing Testimony - By Val Jones *

In February, 2003 I was tested for a tumour under my left arm; it was found to be a malignant Melanoma. It was a secondary cancer from a similar tumour I had on my back 16 years before. This new tumour was in the lymph gland under the left arm.

A malignant Melanoma is the most vigorous and fast growing of cancer tumours because this was a secondary tumour it is very difficult to treat and usually travels to other parts of the body quite quickly.

At this time my relationship with God was not good, I had become fed up with life and had lost the will to live due to so many things had gone wrong for me and my family in recent years, therefore my chances of beating this cancer were pretty slim. However I still knew God and His goodness and faithfulness to us so I asked my church, Revival Fires and many other brothers and sisters to pray for me. God had saved my life and healed me 16 years ago but I was not sure that he would do it this time.

On Friday, March 7 I was waiting in the Spirit after being prayed for by the pastor and others that evening. I felt God' s arms warmly and lovingly lift me up. In that moment even though I still had to have an operation the following Monday, I felt suddenly calmer and safer than for sometime.

When I came around from the operation I felt from the operation I felt physically better than I had for some a long time and I realised the cancer had gone and God had done something which really helped me while I was still under anaesthetic. He carried me through those next two 2 months and I seemed to recovering well, hoping to return to work at the end of May.

I found another lump, doubts started to flood my mind, had the cancer come back? Was God going to save my life after all? The trust and hope of the last weeks was wavering again. Again the pastor, his wife and others from the church prayed for me while test results were awaited, I 'd had another scan 3 biopsy's were done on and around this new lump.

On the day of the next hospital visit my fiancée and I stopped to pray in the hospital car park before the appointment. While we prayed God showed me 3 pieces of paper all with non malignant written on them, so with renewed hope and trust I went in to see the consultant, sure enough the scan was clear and all three biopsies were non malignant. PRAISE GOD.

However, even though Jesus had healed the cancer, I still had a lump about the size of a pea under the arm. The consultant surgeon had said I had to have another operation for it to be removed. This was arranged at the day hospital on June 18, 2003, admittance at 1pm.

On Tuesday evening before the operation, I was prayed for by my friends at Revival Fires and when I got home I noticed the lump was smaller. I thought this must be my imagination at the time but next morning I realised it was smaller still. By the time it came to go to the hospital the lump was still present so I went ahead to have it removed.

At about 1: 30 - 2: 00pm the surgeon came to examine me, I told him I had been prayed for and the lump was smaller, he said it didn't make a lot of difference as there was still a lump that needed to be removed. The operation was at 4: 30pm so I spent the first part of the afternoon reading then at 3:30pm got on the theatre trolley. I fell asleep whilst crying to God in my spirit please, I don't want another operation.

I awoke at 5:10pm when the porter came to take me to the theatre. The surgeon met me in the reception room to give the local anaesthetic injection before I went through. Just before he put the needle in he decided to examine me again to make sure he knew exactly where the lump was before starting the operation.

It was at this point after examining me twice he said, " Would you find the lump please as I can't feel it! " I touched the spot where the lump had been, it was no longer there. I didn't need another operation, the lump had completely gone! God has done it again, I am completely healed ... THANK YOU JESUS.
